Annette Zapp retired in 2024 after a 20-year career in the fire service, where she served as a Lieutenant. She is the founder of Fire Rescue Wellness, a coaching and education platform dedicated to improving the physical and mental health of firefighters worldwide. A recognized leader in firefighter performance and wellness, Annette co-authored the ISSN Position Stand on Tactical Athlete Fueling and a review on creatine use in the firefighting population. Through her research, coaching, and the Fire Rescue Wellness Podcast, she regularly shares evidence-based insights to help firefighters train, fuel, and recover for the unique demands of the job. In 2024, she began PhD studies in Health and Human Performance at Oklahoma State University, where she continues researching tactical athlete performance.
